In October 2006 I did my first gig as wedding DJ, I can’t believe it was 11 years ago

It’s been 1262 corporate events and destination weddings so far.

I have played in almost every resort in town and in a few others in cities nearby.

All of my customers are equally important and I am proud to say that I’ve played for many celebrities along these eleven years like George Clooney, Jessica Alba and Adam Levine at El Dorado parties just to mention a few.

And I’ve played for Tracy McGrady, Jon Cryer and Ioan Gruffudd on their weddings among others.

I am also proud to have played for four wedding coordinators in their own weddings as well and they can’t be wrong in choosing the DJ right? ;)

Very grateful for having the opportunity of do what I love most and looking forward for the next wedding at the end of this month and 5 more in November and ten already booked for next year!

What will your guests remember most about your destination wedding reception? It won’t be the food or the color of the flowers. It will be the music that made everyone get up and dance so that is why music is one of the most important things to think about.
As a wedding DJ I recommend obviously to choose your favorite songs but also to think a little bit in your guests, think what they like based on their age and where they live and add a couple those songs to your list. For example if a few guests are coming from Texas then a couple of country songs will make them dance. If your aunts are in their 50’s a few Disco songs will make them very happy. They are spending some of their time and money to be with you and honestly I think it is nice touch to play some of their favorites as well.
And about the “classic cheesy wedding songs” a couple of them won’t hurt and to be honest everybody loves them! Especially if I play it at the right moment of the party. Please check the following video to see what I´m talking about

Hi there!

This time I want to talk about the DJ gear.

All the DJs (at least my direct competition) use similar equipment, maybe different brands but at the end about the same quality. If there is a difference in the sound quality we will not be able to notice it.

Recently I received a request from a DJ that is coming to do a wedding in Cabo and wanted to rent 4 speakers, but he was asking for a super expensive model that no one had at least in Cabo and the guy got angry because he didn’t get it.

The point is that if that someone is selling you their services in based of the equipment he uses maybe is because he doesn’t have anything better to sell

If a DJ is charging you a bunch of hundreds of dollars maybe even thousands you expect a high quality equipment without even mention it.

And about the “classic cheesy songs” a couple of them won’t hurt and to be honest everybody loves them specially if they had a few drinks already
I’m not talking about the “Chicken Dance” but maybe “Brick House” or “Shout” for example and If you let the DJ play it at the right timing I guarantee you everybody will remember your wedding for life

Uplights are basically a light pointing straight up lighting columns, palm trees, plain walls or even tables to bring attention to them. It turns a simple spot into a focal point.
It sounds simple but it really creates a great wash effect for the room or puts focus on a column or tree that would otherwise have none. They can also be set on the same color or combining different ones and they have hundreds of different tones.
Another option you have is to only place uplighting behind the head table using an odd number of lights with the center light behind the guests of honor. Doing it this way, you’ll put the focus directly on the bride and groom and accent the wall behind them.
Also we can uplight each designated table pointing straight up. This will create a great wash effect under the table and cause the tablecloth to glow. This option looks great especially outdoors at night.
You will love the difference on your between simple lighting and the uplights

Sounds like me!

11 years ago on September 7th, 2005 I did my first event in Los Cabos at Westin Regina Resort. It’s been 1188 events since then and counting. More than 5 thousand hours of DJing and more than a hundred thousand songs played.

It’s been a great ride! Thanks to everybody that trust me their big days on this whole decade. If you keep wanting me to play I will gladly keep playing for you. Let’s go for another 10
